Drummer-E

Im am the precussionist for Slaves Of Predominant Doom, Eric James Hodges (Titan).

My father John Hodges is also a drummer. He's played mostly Blues, Jazz, and Classic Rock & Roll through his life. He started when he was in high school playing in the Royal Oak marching band.

My Aunt (his sister) Sue played and had a drum set so he soon picked that up.

I have personally seen him play with multiple bands and even record some CD's. Even today he plays from time to time but not as much as before, though I must say for a blind man he is damn good in my mind. For every one of my greatest idles.

The beginning

Why.

I was born on August 6, 1996 at 1:50 am in my house. Within a few days my father had me watching him play he drums. As soon as possible he had sat me on his lap holding the sticks in my hands.

As I grew up my father kept playing and it was always an interest to sit, watching him play just to listen to the rhythms, to hear the people come together in unison. I would even sleep in the bass drum (by the way bad idea had to get tubes in my ears 7 times)

When I was 8 I began to take the drums more seriously in my life, practicing with my dad’s band on breaks and soon we began our own sessions together.

At 12 years old my father and I went to a studio to do a CD together.

At 14 I recorded another CD with my dad’s old band (I kind of took over after some disagreements between them).

At 15 I once again returned to studios with them to do another.

These are memorial moments in life that I will cherish forever but I’m not very proud of the CDs for the pure fact it is not my type of music.

Threw my life no one has ever sat down to teach me how to play. I have played with many other people but no other drummers. Never been able to find someone to be my mentor. From the vary beggining I have been self tought and still am.

Teaching

Today

My life is with and for S.o.P.D. When Chad started to learn Guitar it honestly changed my life. I had never imagianed we would get this far. I never ever thought I could become as good as I am today. Yet I still have so much left to learn. I could have never done any of this without our phenomenal guitarist. Chad my brother my band member my best friend I Love You. Forever S.o.P.D. Hail Satan!!!!
